engine died!!

went to Lake Houston last weekend and had to be towed in by the HPD!! it was not fun hanging on the back of the boat testing for spark while adrift. i just put a new prop on the sucker because it had a 18p on it when i got it and couldn't get it over 2800 rpm's, so i bought an 11p and it did soooo much better. ran like a top all day until i was about ready to load up. it got me to the middle of the lake and died. would not start again. i have no spark. so i'm assuming the power pack failed? it's an '84 merc 75hp 4cyl. what do y'all think.

Please tell us what ended up being wrong with it. Hopefully not too expensive to fix. What size HP is it?

75hp. i work offshore, so i wont be able to tear into it until i get back. i will post up my findings.
