I went here in June of 2009 with a scout troop. It was a really nice lake, a little muddy near the mouth of the river, but pretty clear toward the dam. It is plenty deep, has a couple of nice boat ramps. It also has a marina on the water with fuel available. It as good sized lake with only one trouble area I am aware of. There is a section where there are three bouys that mark a hazzard area where it comes up from 50' deep onto a rocky sand bar. I ruined my aluminum prop there!

It is a great lake for pontoon boats. In fact, there is a boy scout camp there thar owns about 30 pontoon boats and the boys go from camping beach to beach using the boats instead of camping.

I highly reccomend the lake.

I know about Bridgeport and it is nice. We are about 30 minutes from Joe Pool and are going to do our first trip there to work out any bugs in our system and to make sure the mosquito enclosure I made works as planned. After that I am hoping to hear about lakes that have Great views Cool ( canyon walls, waterfalls or other unique features).
Thanks
Larry
